I.N.D.I.A. alliance partners started deliberations here in Mumbai on Thursday to make a blueprint for the upcoming Parliamentary polls in 2024, along with the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
Earlier, several leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, MK Stalin, Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, Akhilesh Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav, Mehbooba Mufti, Manoj Jha, and Raghav Chadha arrived in Mumbai. However, the BSP chief Mayawati had opted out of joining the I.N.D.I.A. coalition. The logo of the alliance will be unveiled on Friday after a press conference. While Sharad Pawar’s NCP camp is organising a reception for the dignitaries, Shiv Sena (UBT) is in charge of logistics.
As many as 63 representatives from 28 political parties have attended the two- day meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.).
For the race of Convenor, Pawar seems ahead of Nitish kumar and Kharge
The post of Convenor of I.N.D.I.A. alliance will be discussed in the meeting. However, Sharad Pawar’s role in the I.N.D.I.A. alliance is being questioned. In such a scenario, there is a high possibility that Sharad Pawar will be nominated for the post of coordinator of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance. If that happens, he will be the contender for the post of Prime Minister. On one hand, there is a strong effort on behalf of the BJP to take Sharad Pawar along. The post of Convenor is considered very important for the unity of the I.N.D.I.A. Alliance as this position is being looked at as a candidate for the post of the next Prime Minister. According to sources, few leaders of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance are strongly thinking of handing over this assignment to Sharad Pawar. The names of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are in the forefront for the post of Convenor of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance. However, Nitish Kumar has announced that he does not want this post.
