Q. When you look back at the year gone by, how was 2020 for you?

A. 2020 was full of ups and downs. I think 2020 was a teacher. It actually gave me time to think, reflect, and to analyse.

Q. What was a lockdown learning for you?

A. The biggest lesson was in appreciating the smallest things in life and not taking anything for granted.

Q. What did you miss the most this year and why?

A. I missed travelling the most. I am a travel addict but due to the virus, we couldn’t travel.

Q. Professionally, how was the year for you?

A. Professionally, I haven’t worked or shot anything since the lockdown was announced. I did a few digital collaborations during the lockdown. Nothing major on the work front, so professionally, it wasn’t a good year. But it did give me time to plan things. If all goes well in 2021, I will have a couple of good announcements to make.

Q. What was the lowest moment for you this year?

A.  The lowest moment for me was celebrating my birthday all by myself. I am one of those people who are always very excited about their birthday.  I always have my friends and family around me and we celebrate it with a bang. But, this year, it was a very quiet birthday with nobody around. My mother and sister were with me and they tried to make it as happy as they could. Celebrating my birthday in a quiet fashion was the lowest moment for me.

Q. What was the best moment for you this year?

A. The best moment for me this year was when I won the best actress award at the Rajasthan International Film Festival for my movie Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele.

Q. What do you believe will change for the entertainment industry after this year?

A. I don’t know what will change for this industry as I am not someone who runs the industry, but I am hopeful that everything that we learned this year will help us function better as an industry.

Q. How do you see the OTT boom in India? Do you believe the digital medium is here to stay? How will it change things for you?

A. There has definitely been a boom of OTT content in India. I love the wide range of content that we have due to OTT platforms. It is an entirely new spectrum of content as compared to what we previously had on TV and in theatres. OTT is here to stay as the audiences also resonated very well with the content and the concept. If not for the lockdown, I would have also made my OTT debut, which has now been pushed to 2021.

Q. What is your New Year’s resolution?

A. I don’t really believe in making New Year’s resolutions but I wish I am a better version of myself in every aspect, every day of my life.
