In a heartbreaking incident in the Begumpur area of Rohini, a woman tragically lost her life after her husband allegedly set her ablaze. The harrowing episode unfolded when the police received a PCR call on Monday reporting a house fire with a potential of people being trapped inside. Responding swiftly, a police team reached the location only to find the main gate locked from within.
Efforts to contain the fire were successful, thanks to the timely arrival of the fire brigade. However, upon inspecting the premises, authorities discovered a critically burned woman lying unconscious.
Urgently rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival, and her body was subsequently transferred to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
In a parallel and equally distressing development, another PCR call came from a different hospital, reporting an injured man accompanied by his two young daughters. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man was the husband of the deceased woman.
Shockingly, one of the daughters disclosed that her father had engaged in a heated argument with her mother the previous night, ultimately pouring kerosene on her and setting her on fire.
The police have registered a case under Section 320 of the IPC, relying on the daughter’s horrifying account of the incident.
