In a bid to attract tourists from across the country, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has extended the period of 20 per cent discount on advance booking of rooms in selected hotels till October 31st.
Similarly, private hotel and homestay operators have also decided to continue offering 30 to 50 per cent discounts on advance bookings. Tourists from all over the country can take advantage of these attractive discounts by visiting the mountains. During the last two weeks in the state, hotel occupancy has reached 50 per cent on weekends in many cities. In many homestays in Shimla and Solan districts, it reached 80 to 90 per cent. Earlier roads were destroyed due to heavy monsoon rains and landslides in the state, which led to a decrease in tourists. But, since August 25th, the weather has remained pleasant and the roads have been restored. Now the World Heritage Railway route to Shimla has also been restored. Due to this, tourists have also started moving towards the mountains. Last Saturday, almost all the homestays in the area had 80 to 100 per cent occupancy. Despite this, discounts on room booking have been continued. This is necessary to revive the tourism industry from losses because hotels are completely closed during the last three months.
HPTDC has released a two-day Tribal Tour for tourists. In this package, tourists will be able to visit Manali-Keylong-Baralacha Pass-Trilokinath-Udaipur-Manali. In one day Rohtang Pass Site Scene Package, tourists will visit Manali-Rohtang Pass-Sisu-Manali, while on the second day, they will visit Manali-Trilokinath-Udaipur-Manali. Many other attractive packages have also been released for tourists.
