A police spokesperson reported that on Thursday, a bundle of currency notes totaling Rs 10,000 was discovered on the roadside near Panchkula Police’s Home Guard, consisting of Surajbhan and Rishipal from the Court Complex in Panchkula. They promptly handed over the money to Deputy Inspector Devi Dayal, stating that they found it in the area. Subsequently, the nearby residents were questioned, but no one claimed ownership of the money.

To identify the owner, the Home Guard soldiers traced the numbers of vehicles parked nearby, contacting their owners to inquire about lost belongings. One individual reported losing Rs 10,000 in 100-rupee notes and identified the money as his. He had withdrawn the cash from an ATM for his father’s medical treatment while heading to the court for some work.

Upon receiving this information, ASP Manpreet Singh informed Sudan, who facilitated the safe return of the missing Rs 10,000 to its owner, Hardeep Singh. ASP Manpreet Singh Sudan commended the soldiers for their honesty and recommended issuing appreciation letters from the police department.
