Hudson Joseph Meek, 16-year-old actor who worked as young Baby in the outstanding film Baby Driver, tragically died almost a week before Christmas due to an accident. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, on December 19, 10:45 p.m. local time, around that night, Meek suffered blunt-force trauma resulting from being thrown from the moving vehicle. He died two days later, on December 21, at UAB Hospital in Alabama, despite medical efforts.
Local news reports say that the Vestavia Hills Police Department has opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. Meek’s mother, Lani Wells Meek, posted a heartfelt statement on Facebook, writing, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but his impact on everyone he met was immense.”
An obituary honouring Meek revealed he was an organ donor, an act that brings comfort to his grieving family.
