Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s journey into content creation hasn’t met expectations. Their early foray was not paid too much attention even though they were known partners in the Netflix deal and, according to a latest story, it appears that the couple is now under increasing pressure from the mighty streaming behemoth.
Insiders reveal to InTouch Weekly that Netflix invested heavily in the Sussexes but is disappointed with the failure of success. “Harry and Meghan haven’t done much to justify their lucrative deal,” one reported. And they are being pressured to create something of hit song influence. Prince Harry’s favourite project, the latest documentary, Polo, did not play well to either critics or audiences.
According to the insider, “Harry is deeply committed to the subject, so the lukewarm reception has been disheartening.”
The couple had an impressive beginning with the record-breaking Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan in 2022. It broke all the records in the highest viewing hours in a documentary during its debut week. However, other releases that followed have failed to match this feat, so they are eagerly waiting to get back on track.
Meghan has reacted by announcing a new Netflix series called With Love, Meghan, which is a lifestyle and culinary program. The eight-episode series, which will premiere on January 15, will showcase her love of cooking, gardening, and entertaining. The show seeks to offer a new viewpoint with guests including chef Alice Waters, actress Mindy Kaling, and co-star Abigail Spencer from Meghan’s Suits. Prince Harry also appears briefly in the trailer, indicating a team effort to get back on track in the entertainment industry.
