Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited Gondpur Jaichand village in Una district to pay respects to Professor Simmi Agnihotri, the late wife of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. Professor Agnihotri passed away on February 9, and a Shraddhanjali and Prarthna Sabha were held in her honor.

During his visit, the Chief Minister offered floral tributes and expressed his condolences, stating that Professor Simmi’s sudden demise was a significant loss to the family. He emphasized the need for emotional support between Mukesh Agnihotri and their daughter Astha Agnihotri during this time of grief. He also highlighted Professor Simmi’s contributions as an educationist and social worker, noting her impact on women’s empowerment.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi also paid his respects, acknowledging Professor Simmi’s dedication to knowledge and social work. A documentary showcasing her life and achievements was screened at the event. Various dignitaries, including Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, and several MLAs and Congress leaders, were present to honor her memory.
