Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhu Cabinet saw the entry of two more ministers. On Tuesday evening, Rajesh Dharmani from Bilaspur and Yadwinder Goma from Kangra became a part of the Sukhu Cabinet. Around 4:45 PM, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan in Shimla administered the oath of office and secrecy to both ministers. Chief Minister Sukhwindra Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, along with other ministers and dignitaries, were present on this occasion. Rajesh is the only Congress legislator from Bilaspur and represents the Ghumarwin constituency in the Assembly. He had been awaiting a ministerial position in Bilaspur for the past year. The decision was made late at night, and the oath-taking ceremony happened today. His inclusion in the cabinet has brought waves of joy among his supporters.
On Tuesday morning in Ghumarwin, workers and Congress officials gathered outside Rajesh Dharmani’s residence to extend their congratulations. MLA Yadwinder Goma from Jayasinghpur in Kangra has also been made a minister. It is being said that preparations are underway to change the portfolios of some ministers. According to information received, there is a plan to appoint one Brahmin, one Rajput, and one Scheduled Caste member as ministers. For now, only two ministers have been appointed. Yadwinder Goma won the Jayasinghpur constituency in Kangra district under the Scheduled Caste quota in 2012 but lost in 2017. He won the second election in 2022. His father, Milki Ram Goma, has been an MLA three times.
It is being said that Yadwinder Goma became a minister on the recommendation of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, as the National President had suggested appointing two ministers under the Scheduled Caste quota in the state. Meanwhile, Sudhir Sharma from Dharamshala, Sanjay Ratan from Jwalamukhi, and Bhawani Singh Pathania from Fatehpur could be made ministers later.
