Hero MotoCorp has entered the world of premium motorcycles with the Mavrick 440. Largely known till now for its commuter bikes like the Splendor and Passion Plus, the brands’ foray into the middle-weight motorcycle segment, comes shortly after the arrival of Harley-Davidson X440, a bike jointly developed by Hero and Harley. The Mavrick even though based on the X440, gets a lot of its elements.

Design
The Mavrick 440 gets a roadster look with front forward mass, muscular fuel tankandmetal body parts such as front fender, shrouds, and fuel tank.The motorcycle features all LED lighting set up with round LED projector headlights, daytime running lights as well as taillights. You also get a wide handlebar and an exhaust that is not as upswept as some would like it to be. The single-piece seat gets 60mm foam which according to Hero ensures a comfortable ride experience.The bike is available in five colour options with the base version coming in Arctic White and the mid variant being offered in Celestial Blue and Fearless Red. The top variant is available in Phantom Black and Enigma Black colour options.

Features
The Mavrick 440 comes with a digital speedometer with negative displaywhich provides information such as phone battery status, miss call alert, bluetooth message alert, incoming call alert, turn-by-turn navigation, low fuel indicator and distance to empty.The top variant also gets eSIM-based connectivity which apart from remote tracking gives access to over 35 functions through connected 2.0 technology. You also get a USB charging port just below the handlebar.

Engine
The bike runs on an air-cooled with oil cooler 2V single cylinder 440cc ‘TorqX’ engine with electronic fuel injection. This long-stroke engine delivers 27 bhp @ 6000 rpm and a torque of 36 Nm @ 4000 rpm. Hero says it is specifically designed for high low-end torque with over 90% of the peak torque accessible from just 2000 rpm. This promises to provide a smooth and stress-free ride for city commuting and highway journeys. You get a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch while 0° steel radial pattern tyres promise support during extreme lean angles.
The bike gets 17-inch wheels at the front and rear with a ground clearance of 175mm.Built on a trellis frame, it has 43mm telescopic front forksalong with preloaded 7-step twin shocks at the rear. You get disc brakes at both ends in addition to dual-channel ABS.

Prices
The three variants of the motorcycle are called Base, Mid and Top.Prices range between Rs. 1.99 lakh and Rs2.24 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has also launched a ‘Welcome to Mavrick Club Offer’ which will be available to customers who book the bike before 15th March. They will get a customised kit of accessories & merchandise worth Rs.10,000.
