Newly appointed Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) Chairman Nand Lal Sharma met Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya here on Tuesday seeking customer friendly regulatory governance, prompt resolution of consumer complaints along with the development oriented approach of the regulator. Apart from that, during his first meeting with governor he has detailed talks over several important issues. It is worth mentioning that HERC Chairman Nand Lal Sharma had taken the oath of office and secrecy on 02. Prior to present responsibility of HERC, Nand Lal Sharma was the Chairman and Managing Director of Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL).The main discussion that took place in the half-hour meeting with the Governor was that in the present context, the role of regulatory commissions should be more constructive, because the regulator has to create a coordination between the consumers and the electricity corporations in an equitable manner in a bid to ensure the protection of interests of electricity consumers. Nand Lal Sharma said that to redress the complaints of consumers, 21 CGRFs have been formed at the circle level while 4 and 2 at the zonal level and the corporate levels respectively.
