Dial 112 which is an integrated helpline service for fire, police and health assistance, kick-started in Haryana on July 12, 2021 so that law and order can be strengthened in the state along with providing several other emergency services. Amid this, it came to light that a lot of people are making prank calls to the Dial 112 which continues to affect the working of the staff members deployed at the headquarter and control room in Panchkula. Apart from this, a string of people were being reported misbehaving with staff members deployed at the control room. In wake of this, the department has come up with a strategy to deal with such elements. Besides, people are being advised to address their issues in maximum two minutes so that they can be provided timely help.

Arshinder Singh Chawla, ADGP and Nodal officer of the Dial 112 service said that such incidents are taking place consistently and the department would take stern action against those doing so. Besides, many people call the helpline in a drunken state which is not fair and following this, such people will be tracked down if the scenario continues to remain unchanged.

It is pertinent to mention that Dial 100, 101 and 108 for police, fire and health services respectively will remain in existence until the Dial 122 gets popularity among the people of the state.
