The Haryana government has launched a special operation in Mewat’s Punhana. Through this operation, several young people who have fraudulently availed of the benefits of government schemes have been identified. So far, youths with fraud cases amounting to Rs 100 crore have been found in 14 Haryana villages.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar disclosed this information on Monday. Having identified the fraudsters, the state government is now preparing to recover this money from the youth, with interest. So far, 37 lakh fake transaction cases have been detected through the Haryana government’s Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). Those identified have wrongly taken the benefit of about 150 schemes. CM Khattar has recently been touring the district of Karnal which is where he answered questions regarding the government’s PPP portal. The Chief Minister said that the Congress has been opposing the portal. However, there are now around 100 government portals set up in Haryana. Through these portals, the government has saved thousands of crores of rupees so far.
The ineligible have been thrown out of government schemes and only the deserving are getting benefits. The campaign launched in Punhana is the biggest such example. Former Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda has constantly besieged the government regarding the portal. He also attacked the BJP-JJP coalition government of the state during an aerial survey of Sirsa-Fatehabad. He has said that only the portal government is running in Haryana, while the general public is currently troubled by the flood tragedy. He demanded direct compensation from the CM to the aggrieved farmers.
