Negligence of orders by ministers along with problems of commoners by the officials in Haryana is not a new thing as even a string of legislators have filed complaints to the speaker Gia Chand Gupta earlier but the scenario continued to remain unchanged. The legislature Krishan Midha, Aseem Goyal and Pardeep Dagar from Jind, Ambala and Hathin respectively were having complaints against the officials that they were not being listened to by the officials which led to their humiliation some many times.
In view of this, the state government has come up with a plan to tighten the noose against such officials making fun of regulations.
In this series, the Haryana Government has directed the officers to maintain the record of public grievances raised during the Janta Darbar organised by Ministers. It has also been directed to keep the record of grievances till disposal. Directions have been given to strictly follow these orders on a priority basis.
Pertaining to this, an official spokesperson said the directions have been given by Haryana Chief Secretary to all the Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Officers that all the public grievances raised during the Janta Darbar organised by Ministers are usually marked to the concerned departments to take necessary action. Some officials don’t consider it sincerely. He said that in this matter, the State Government has given strict directions to the officers to conduct a detailed inquiry and dispose of the grievances raised during the Janta Darbar.
It is evident from the ongoing scenario that the state government continues to eye on such officials with a casual approach and are not following norms.
It is pertinent to mention that Anil Vij who holds the portfolio of Home Minister along with 6 different departments used to say several times that abiding by the protocol, the designation of a legislator is equal to the chief secretary of the state. It clearly indicates that being a public representative, an MLA owns a very significant post and the same should be respected by the officials.
In continuation to this, it is worth mentioning that an employee of the Home Minister’s office was caught red-handed leaking the identity of the most confidential documents recently as shown in a complaint by the office of the chief secretary. Following this, the state government is having a close eye on such employees. According to the sources that several employees associated with several ministers continue to neglect the files of the ministers as well as commoners.
