Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal boosts sugarcane rates for early crops.CM said that now the rate of sugarcane per quintal to the sugarcane farmers of the state has been increased by Rs 14 from Rs 372 to Rs 386. CM has made this announcement for the rate of sugarcane crop of 2024.
The CM also announced that next year the sugarcane crop rate will be increased from Rs 386 to Rs 400. Now the rate of sugarcane in Haryana has become Rs 6 per quintal higher than in Punjab. Currently, the rate of sugarcane in Punjab is Rs 380 per quintal. Chief Minister Manohar Lal expressed his support towards the farmers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their welfare. Haryana Agriculture Minister JP Dalal had recently announced that increased rates of sugarcane will be announced in Haryana soon. He had also indicated that this time Haryana will maintain its track. Haryana government has paid Rs 2819 crore to sugarcane farmers during the crushing season 2022-23. The Agriculture Minister said that during the sugarcane crushing season 2021-22, 754.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane were crushed by various sugar mills and the sugar recovery was 9.47 percent.
There has been a notable increase in the crushing and recovery of sugarcane in the current season compared to the previous year. During the 2022-23 sugarcane crushing season, various sugar mills processed 770.73 lakh quintals of sugarcane with a sugar recovery rate of 9.70 percent. However, in the upcoming 2023-24 season, it is estimated that there will be a total production of 962 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
