Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday virtually inaugurated another New Field Hospital with a facility of 100 oxygen beds in Karnal and 30 oxygen beds in two hospitals of Assandh.
Khattar said that there is a need to provide the immediate facility of oxygen beds at every community health centre and directed the Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Department to ensure the availability of oxygen beds along with other necessary arrangements at health centres functional in rural areas at the earliest so that villagers can get this facility at the soonest.
“In this way, required action is being taken to increase beds in hospitals of every district. SGT Medical College and Medanta are also increasing beds in Gurugram. I urge all social organizations and private institutions to stand together as we all have to collectively fight this pandemic,” said the Haryana CM.
Khattar also informed that there are 1.16 lakh active patients in Haryana and 10,500 beds are available in hospitals. Besides this, 1.5 lakh patients are in home isolation, requiring 12,000 oxygen beds. Therefore, an arrangement for 1250 oxygen beds is being made. Additional arrangement of 500 beds each has also been made in hospitals in Panipat and Hisar and on the premises of Jindal school.
The Chief Minister also launched the Karnal Resource Locator Mobile App prepared by the Karnal District Administration. He said that information about all necessary facilities related to hospitals, ambulances, medical stores, plasma donors and vaccination centres can be obtained on the mobile app. He also reviewed the Karnal District Administration’s detailed plan made to tackle the expected third wave of Covid-19.
The Chief Minister further said that as many as 1,800 vaccination centres have been set up in the state and so far 43 lakh vaccines have been administered. He added that 3.50 lakh vaccines will be made available soon and on a priority basis, and vaccines would be administered to 8,000 teams who are conducting surveys in rural areas, frontline workers, and government employees working during this pandemic. The vaccination drive in the state is being further intensified, he added.
