The ruling BJP in Haryana has started preparations for Mission-2024 i.e. the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Elections are likely to be announced in February. Keeping this in mind, BJP has already started searching for possible faces for the Lok Sabha elections. While the BJP organization is forming the panel at its own level, the officials of the CMO (Chief Minister’s Office) have also been sent to the field to gather feedback.
It is not true that tickets will be available only on the recommendation of the BJP organization and the Chief Minister. To get BJP ticket, leaders will have to cross six stages. Only after this the ticket will be confirmed. Of the current nine MPs, three to four are likely to get tickets again. ‘Talwar’ is hanging on the remaining tickets. There are 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. This seat is vacant after the death of Ratanlal Kataria, who was MP from Ambala. There is no remote possibility of by-elections being held here.
If BJP sources are to be believed, work regarding the Lok Sabha elections has already started. BJP is not waiting for the elections to be announced. However, work has already started on the ground before that so that popular and winning candidates can be selected in time. Senior leaders associated with BJP also say that this time the party is in a mood to give opportunities to more youth than before. The policy of the Sangh is to reduce the average age so that there is a young Parliament. This will also be a big reason that new faces get a chance instead of veteran leaders.
The State Executive will take reports from all the districts for possible faces for the Lok Sabha. Party’s Haryana affairs in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb has started work on this. After the complete report, a panel will be formed at the state BJP level. On the other hand, work is being done by the Sangh at its own level.
While BJP’s panel will be open, Sangh’s report will go in a closed envelope. The Sangh is also collecting reports on current MPs and is also working on new faces. Apart from the party and union, the Chief Minister’s report will also be sent. The recommendation of the Chief Minister is considered very important. That means the Chief Minister’s recommendations and objections regarding ticket claimants will have their own importance. Survey will also be conducted by CID. The CID report will also be with the CM and it will also be sent to the Centre.
Apart from the input of CID, IB will also conduct its own survey and give a report regarding possible faces. Sources say that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also get the survey done at his level.
The reports are such that this work has been entrusted to two agencies. Shah’s survey report is also not going to be less important. After all these reports, the most important will be the internal report of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Highly reliable sources say that a team of Modi’s trusted people visits the field and prepares its report.
No one has any idea when and to which parliamentary constituency this team goes. It is believed that this team keeps a parallel eye on all the developments. On behalf of the Chief Minister, CMO officials are being sent constituency wise. Although officially it has been said that the duty of these officers has been imposed to take feedback of the schemes of the Central and State Government. Party sources say that these officers are also making ‘report cards’ of the sitting MPs and collecting complete information about the concerned area. Apart from regional and caste equations, the reasons for resentment are also being explored.
