Ahead of the Ellenabad by-polls, the Haryana BJP conducted its state council meeting here on Wednesday in Panchkula after 39 years, making it a huge occasion as the party ceremony could not take place for decades.

It is one of the important steps on the part of the BJP towards showing strength ahead of the Ellenabad by-election and the same was announced during the formal address from very beginning to ending of the programme. Political experts are of the opinion that by conducting the meeting of the State council, the party aims at strengthening its roots in rural areas also.

There were moments when the party workers and senior leaders witnessed the good tuning between the Haryana BJP president OP Dhankhar and the Chief Minister Manohar Lal as Dhankhar praised the working of the government as well as Manohar Lal.

Dhankhar gave the opening address of the program and said that all the persons belonging to the party and even those having heavy portfolios are answerable to the organisation and the party.

While addressing to the cabinet ministers, he gave reference of Moolchand Sharma, Banwari Lal, and said: “A party like ours has a great legacy and even the state cabinet ministers were answerable to the party as well as the workers during the coronavirus pandemic via virtual meetings and above-mentioned ministers are an instance.”

“Besides, all party legislators either must know the name of booth workers or be familiar with their faces.  In order to strengthen the organisation, it is the need of the hour on the part of legislators and MPs of the party to give importance to the workers and others associated with the party,” Dhankhar continued.

Apart from laying emphasis on strengthening the party’s roots in the rural areas of Haryana, he added, “We need to focus more on making the BJP more powerful in villages as it would benefit the organisation all the way.”

On the issue of the Ellenabad by-polls, taking on the Indian National Lok Dal›s (INLD) Abhay Singh Chautala, the state party President said that he has imposed the elections on the state and it will cost a huge loss to the state exchequer.

“Earlier Abhay had resigned from the post saying that he wouldn›t come back to assembly if agriculture laws had not withdrawn. But contrary to his stand, he is contesting the election again then what it does mean,” he raised questions.

Many senior party leaders, MPs along with MLA›s were present during the programme. The list included Chief Minister Manohar Lal, state party incharge Vinod Tawde and the cabinet ministers marked their presence on this occasion.
