Overwhelmed with the huge victory in neighbouring state Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has failed to prove its mettle in Haryana. The party is on toes to strengthen its position in the state politics and in this bid, the party had fielded a contestant in the Adampur bypoll but contrary to expectations, the byelection proved a nightmare. Following the ongoing scenario, the party continues to mull over every possible aspect and in this series, the party high command has decided to set up its state headquarter in Chandigarh. Being the state capital of the state, Chandigarh also remains in discussions in political spheres which led to the AAP to come up with setting up a new office. Since the party has no legislator in Haryana and in wake of this, the party is believed to set up office in any flat allotted in name of any party MLA elected from Punjab. Anurag Dhanda, the AAP leader who holds the portfolio of the party’s National Advisor said that since Chandigarh is the centre of all kinds of political activities, the party has decided to set up its office in the MLA hostel or in any sector here within ten days. The BJP, the ruling party has set up its office in a newly constructed building in Panchkula which was earlier setup in MLA housing, sector-3 and shifted to Panchkula due to some unknown reasons.
