Special attention from the Health Department is directed towards the districts falling in the NCR and adjacent to Delhi, as a sizable chunk of total cases and deaths due to COVID-19 is reported in Gurugram, Faridabad, along with other districts. Following a spike in the fresh cases of fatal corona, the health department as well as the Haryana government are mulling over the strategy to tackle the disease before it spreads on a large scale. Notably, like previous waves of Corona, most of the cases reported so far have surfaced in the Gurugram district of Haryana adjacent to Delhi. Movement of the people at large scale at International and national level emerges as the main factor for the spread in infection which has forced the concerned department to come with additional efforts so that things remain under control. In the wake of the present scenario, the health department is in no alert mode to deal with the situation, continuously monitoring the patients being reported in Gurugram and suspected patients reported in adjoining districts.

Besides, the state also witnessed the casualties on large scale after the disease entered Haryana and the deadly corona led to the untimely death of at least 10779 patients which clearly indicates the gravity of the situation. In this row, a maximum number of 1188 patients died in Haryana due to Corona in Hisar district.

After Hisar, the highest number of deaths due to the disease in Haryana has occurred in Gurugram district alone. as a total of 1035 deaths have occurred in Gurugram, which is about 10 percent of the total deaths. Similarly, Faridabad, Panipat, Bhiwani, Karnal, Rohtak, Sirsa , Ambala and Fatehabad witnessed 741, 679, 668 , 603, 554 , 551 542 and 502 untimely deaths respectively.

According to departmental data, till Tuesday 1078985 people were infected with Corona in Haryana. Of these, 1068196 people were discharged after recovery. Among the 10,779 patients who died due to the disease, migrant laborers constituted a sizable chunk as in Haryana during the peak period of Corona, about three and a half thousand migrant laborers had lost their lives. Most of the deceased migrant laborers hailed from UP and Bihar.

In response to a spike in fresh cases, the Health Minister Anil Vij said that the new cases necessitated the department to come up with the time arrangements in the health institutions and the necessary steps are being taken into consideration to tackle the disease.

It has been asked to monitor and report influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) cases, so that early rising trends of such cases can be detected.
