Launching a major Cracking down on terrorism, the Gujarat police have busted a terror module, that planned to kill, famous political leaders across the country.

Talking about this module, Commissioner of Gujarat Police Anupam Singh Gehlot revealed, that a maulvi (cleric), who goes by the name Sohail, has been arrested.

Further, the commissioner also added, that National Investigative Agency (NIA), is also involved in the ongoing probe.

“In the first week of May, we arrested a maulvi by the name of Sohail from the Surat district. On being interrogated, he shared more leads on this terror module that he was associated with. We recovered two voter identity cards from the cleric.” said Commissioner Gehlot said on Friday.

The police further revealed that another accused Mohammad Ali alias Shehnaz was also arrested and said

“She used a mobile phone SIM from Nepal. Using his mobile tower location, we tracked him down at Muzaffarpur. He earlier used to stay in Nepal. He used a single mobile handset but operated 17 numbers.”

The commissioner also revealed that Shehnaz also operated 42 email IDs. Adding that accused used multiple SIMs and email IDs to threaten its targets.

Later, talking about the 3rd Accused Raza, the commissioner announced,

“He destroyed his mobile handset but we managed to retrieve some information with the help of FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory). We are in the process of gathering further details and data on him and the module. He used a Pakistani SIM card provided by his handler Dagar.”

The police have announced that the further investigation is currently ongoing.
