The Gujarat High Court bench headed by Justice Biren Vaishnav who had the had a heated exchange with Justice Mauna M. Bhatt yesterday, apologises to her today in an open court in the presence of advocates and staff members.
The bench headed by Justice Vaishnav said in an open court that what happened on Monday, should not happened. I was wrong. I am sorry for that. We begin a new session. It should not happen. It is just that, I do not know…I was wrong.
Justice Vaishnav, who being the senior judge on the bench had a heated exchange of words with the puisne judge Justice Mauna M. Bhatt on Monday after she displayed the disagreement to her in the matter by whispering something to Justice Vaishnav.
The said incident took place while Justice Vaishnav was passing an order in a matter and Justice Bhatt did not agree with the order and she mumbled something to Justice Vaishnav, which irked him. Justice Vaishnav remarked Justice Bhatt, then you differ yaar. We have differed in one, you differ here also.
Adding to it, Justice Bhatt responded that it is not the question about differing.
The bench of Justice Vaishnav stated that then do not murmur, you pass a separate order then. Thus, we are not taking any more matters.
After the said incident, Justice Vaishnav rose and left the courtroom. However, the said incident was recorded as the event was being broadcast through YouTube and the video was later pulled down.
