GUJARAT ALL SET TO GET INDIA’S FIRST HIGH-TECH RAILWAY STATION

PM Modi is likely to inaugurate the station—built under a 5-star hotel— when he visits the state on 12-13 January.

Gujarat is going to get a new gift. The country’s first high-tech railway station is being set up in the state capital. A five-star hotel has been erected on top of the modern railway station being constructed in Gandhinagar. The railway station, which is going to be inaugurated in January 2021, is by far the most modern railway station in the country. And just above the station, a 300-room five-star hotel is being built. The railway station under the five-star hotel is the first project of its kind in India.

A new railway station with a five-star hotel is being constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore to give a new identity to Gandhinagar. Spread over an area of about 6,500 square meters, it is being

built on a PPP basis. Most of the construction work has been completed. Once ready, it will be the tallest building in Gandhinagar.

A 300-room five-star hotel is being built in the capital Gandhinagar under which the train will pass. If we talk about the view of the hotel, you can also see the Mahatma Mandir and Gujarat Assembly Complex directly from the hotel. It is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visits the state on 12-13 January. For the first time in India, a prayer room has also been set up at a railway station.

While medical arrangements are made at the station, a feeding room is prepared for young children. Metal detectors are installed at the entrance of the station and the entire station is equipped with CCTV cameras.

Built in an airport style, the Gandhinagar railway station is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project. After becoming the PM, Narendra Modi approved the project. If this pilot project of Gandhinagar railway station is successful, it is likely that various railway stations in the country will be renovated in the same way.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi has inaugurated the sea-plane service in Gujarat. The sea-plane service from Ahmedabad to Kevadia was also PM Modi’s dream project.

PM Modi is likely to visit Gujarat again on 12-13 January. Along with the new state-of-the-art rail station at Gandhinagar, he is likely to inaugurate some other projects. PM Modi may also inaugurate the second phase of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro rail project. According to state government sources, the PM will perform bhoomi pujan in Motera or Gandhinagar during his visit.

According to sources, the second phase of the Metrorail project from Motera in Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar will be 28 km long and fully elevated route which was scheduled to start in January last year, but for some reason could not take off then. Tenders for this have been floated.
