West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle was among the guests at Sidhartha Mallya’s wedding in the UK over the weekend. Sidhartha, the son of Vijay Mallya, married his long-time girlfriend Jasmine at his father’s $14 million mansion in Hertfordshire.

Chris Gayle, who played for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) owned by Vijay Mallya from 2011 to 2017, shared exclusive behind-the-scenes moments from the event. He posted a clip of guests dancing to “Chaleya” from Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster “Jawan.” Gayle is well-known for setting a record with a 30-ball century in IPL 2013.

The wedding guest list included notable figures like fugitive businessman Lalit Modi, singer Sophie Choudry, and fashion designer Manoviraj Khosla. Many of Vijay Mallya’s socialite friends from Bengaluru also attended the wedding.

Sidhartha and Jasmine had two wedding ceremonies: a Christian wedding and a traditional Hindu wedding. For the Hindu ceremony, Jasmine wore a pink lehenga while Sidhartha donned a sherwani. They took pheras (walking around the holy fire) and exchanged floral garlands (varmala). In the Christian ceremony, Jasmine wore a white gown, and Sidhartha wore a velvet olive green tuxedo.

The couple had announced their upcoming wedding less than a week before the celebrations, after getting engaged on Halloween last October.

California-born Sidhartha Mallya recently released a children’s book titled “Sad-Glad,” which focuses on embracing changing emotions in children. He has been an advocate for mental health, having previously authored a book titled “If I’m Honest: A Memoir of My Mental Health Journey.” Sidhartha is the son of Vijay Mallya and his first wife, Samira Tyabjee Mallya.
