Following the change in government in Rajasthan, access to treatment under RGHS (Rajasthan Government Health Scheme) and the Chiranjeevi scheme has significantly declined, causing hardships for patients. Gajendra Singh Rathore, the united president of the Akhil Rajasthan State Employees Joint Federation, highlighted that despite a monthly deduction of about Rs 700-800 from state employees’ salaries in the RGHS account, they are compelled to seek treatment and medicines outside the system. The absence of RGHS facilities has forced employees and their families to resort to cash payments for medical services.
The Daily Guardian previously reported on this issue with the headline ‘Private Hospitals pause services amidst health scheme uncertainty’ on December 20th. Despite government approval, hospitals are not providing treatment, leading to the redirection of serious patients to government hospitals. Hospital management is awaiting decisions from the new government.
A memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Secretary
To address these concerns, Federation President Gajendra Singh Rathore announced plans to submit a memorandum to the Chief Secretary. The federation has already submitted demands to the department, emphasising the need for an immediate resolution to prevent employee dissatisfaction and avoid sending a negative message to the public.
