In a significant setback for commuters, the government has raised the price of CNG in various regions of India. The new rates were announced by the government at 6 a.m. this morning.
How Much: The government has raised the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by one rupee per kilogram.
When: The new rate will be effective from today, June 22.
Hike In Which Cities: This change will affect the cost of CNG in many cities across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, including the National Capital Region (NCR).
New Delhi- The price of CNG has risen from Rs 74.09 to Rs 75.09 per kg.
(Delhi NCR) Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad- Price has increased from Rs 78.70 to Rs 79.70 per kg.
Rewari, Haryana- Price has increased from Rs 78.70 to Rs 79.70 per kg.
There has been no change in CNG prices in Gurugram, as well as in Karnal and Kaithal, both located in Haryana.
Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Uttar Pradesh- Prices increased from Rs 79.08 to Rs 80.08 per kg.
Ajmer, Pali, Rajsamand, Rajasthan- Prices increased from Rs 81.94 to Rs 82.94 per kg.
Lucknow, Agra, Ayodhya- Since last Sunday, the price of CNG in Lucknow, Agra, Unnao, and Ayodhya has been set at Rs 94.00 per kg, up from the previous prices of Rs 92.25 per kg in Lucknow, Agra and Unnao, and Rs 92.35 per kg in Ayodhya.
Previous Increases before Bakrid- Before the latest hike, CNG prices had already been increased in several cities of Uttar Pradesh just before Bakrid.
