A German tourist was attacked and robbed while camping near Lahore airport. Berg Florian, who was sleeping in his tent in a park close to Guldasht Town, was attacked by two armed men who stole his valuables, including an iPhone, cash, and a camera valued at approximately PKR 500,000, according to ARY News. The 27-year-old tourist had arrived in Pakistan from Diyarbakir. The incident took place in Lahore’s North Cantonment area, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged, as reported by ARY News.
After the robbery, the German national attempted to reach the Rangers office on his bicycle but collapsed from his injuries. Bystanders quickly transported him to the Rangers Hospital, where he received medical care. The tourist also claimed that when he reported the robbery to the patrolling Dolphin Squad, they asked him for money.
At Florian’s request, the Lahore Police filed a case under theft provisions, specifically Section 382 of The Pakistan Penal Code (theft involving preparation that causes death, injury, or restraint to commit the theft). The police are currently investigating different facets of the case, noting that there have been reports of similar robberies in the area, particularly within the South Cantonment Police Station jurisdiction.
