Prime minister Narendra Modi and German chancellor Olaf Scholz indulge in talks on Saturday with a focus on boosting the bilateral ties in the areas of trade and new technologies. Modi recieved Scholz at Rashtrapati Bhawan where the German leader was accorded a ceremonial welcome. The first meeting between the two leaders took place during Modis visit to Berlin on May 2 last year for the sixth India Germany Inter Governmental consultations. The talks took place hours after scholz arrived in Delhi on a two day visit to India and the talks began at around 11:50 am. Amid the discussions officials said the Russia Ukraine conflict and the situation in the indo Pacific region are also expected to figure predominantly in the deliberations. The talks will too focus on expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, defense , clean energy climate change and new technologies.
