On March 18 and 19, the second meeting of the Startup20 Engagement group which was recently established under India’s G20 Presidency, will be held in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.
The delegates from G20 member and invitee countries, representatives from multilateral organizations and stakeholders from the Indian startup ecosystem will attend the meeting. “The Sikkim Sabha offers a unique opportunity to bring the Startup world to the pristine North East of India and showcase its unique and growing ecosystem,” Startup20 Chair Chintan Vaishnav said in an official release on Friday.
The agenda was finalised during the inception meeting in Hyderabad in late January 2023 would be forwarded by the Sikkim Sabha.
The objectives and deliverables of the three taskforces, namely Foundation and Alliances, Finance, and Inclusion and Sustainability, were reworked during the inception meeting to incorporate suggestions from all delegates.
The Startup20 Engagement Group taskforce members (delegates from the G20 nations) will be discussing and deliberating on the first draught of the official policy communique at the Sikkim Sabha.
The event will also include a number of side events, Startup20X events, a startup showcase at MG Marg, and a visit to the Rumtek Monastery for delegates.
During the coming months and other intervening events hosted by Startup20, the first draught of the policy communique will be worked on and reworked.
The official Policy Communique, a Startup Handbook with a set of commonly agreed upon definitions and terminologies, a Global Innovation Centre to foster cross-border collaborations, and promotion of Startup20 as a Global Point of Contact for startup ecosystems worldwide are all expected outcomes of Startup20.
