Dinesh Sharma, a former deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and prominent BJP figure, has been chosen as an MP for the Rajya Sabha from that state. Due to the lack of any other party’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat, Dinesh Sharma was elected without a challenge. An official stated that Dinesh Sharma will receive the certificate on Friday around 3 p.m. Due to the passing of senior BJP leader Hardwar Dubey, the Election Commission recently declared that a by-election would be held for the vacant Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Votes are currently being counted for the five assembly seats in Uttarakhand (Bageshwar), Uttar Pradesh (Ghosi), Kerala (Puthuppally), West Bengal (Dhupguri), and Jharkhand (Dumri). According to information posted on the Election Commission’s official website, BJP leader Tafajjal Hossain won the Boxanagar constituency in Tripura, and BJP leader Bindu Debnath won the Dhanpur constituency.

Chandy Oommen, a candidate for the Congress, is in the lead from Puthuppally in Kerala, according to early trends. Parwati Dass, a BJP candidate, is in the lead in Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar. Yashoda Devi of the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) is in the lead from Dumri in Jharkhand, while Nirmal Chandra Roy of the Trinamool Congress is in the lead from Dhupguri in West Bengal.
