Former National Conference (NC) leader and ex-Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Mohd Rafiq Shah, along with a contingent of supporters, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Joining Shah in the move was Mohd Ayub Pahalwan from Kotranka, Budhal, along with his supporters.
The induction ceremony witnessed a warm welcome extended to the new entrants by Ravinder Raina, President of J&K BJP, and Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha). They were accompanied by District Development Council (DDC) member Iqbal Malik, BJP joining committee member Neha Mahajan, and Co-convenor of the Pahari Cell, Dr. Mir Khursheed.
Raina expressed the BJP’s commitment to democratic principles and nationalistic fervor, emphasizing the party’s dedication to serving every segment of society. He underscored the Modi government’s efforts to ensure inclusive development, addressing the needs of all sections of the population.
Jugal Kishore Sharma highlighted the government’s initiatives that have uplifted marginalized communities and garnered widespread support for the BJP. He emphasized the significance of the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, predicting massive support for the BJP based on the government’s track record of service and justice.
Several prominent political and social figures, including Syed Manzoor Shah, Sheeraz Zaman Lone, Syed Tajamul, and others, joined the BJP during the ceremony. Their decision to align with the BJP reflects a growing confidence in the party’s ability to serve the people and the nation effectively.
