Forces to get military equipment based on molecular nano technology

Preeti Sompura

Following the success in creating a niche in several high-growth sectors, Darwin Platform Group of Companies (DPGC) on Sunday announced the great strides it is making in military and scientific advancements. To equip Indian defence with new-age military equipment, the DPGC showcased the prototypes of indigenously designed and developed military equipment based on Molecular Nano Technology (MNT). For this ambitious project, DPGC partnered with the Robotics Lab at Woxsen University, Hyderabad for designing and developing these prototypes. Under the project, the DPGC plans to provide three MNT-based equipment—Military Jackets, Arms and Ammunition & Laser-Guided Munition and Guidance against Laser Guided Bombs—to the Indian forces for upkeeping our defence.

Announcing a path-breaking initiative, DPGC Group CEO Dr Raja Roy Choudhury said, “These scientific and military advancements will be all part of DPGC’s aim to resonate with the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The research in MNT is being led by Indian scientists and researchers. We, through this path-breaking initiative, aim to provide our soldier with new-age military equipment so that they can defend our borders vigorously without compromising their safety.”

According to experts, MNT is a scientific advancement where duplicates are created which are smaller, more functional, lighter and cheaper than the original copy. This type of technology can have major military applications. MNT may just be the power that makes India stand up against the global superpowers who want to assert their dominance.

“For the development of advanced analytic systems, we have collaborated with the Robotics Lab at Woxsen University, Hyderabad. These systems will be created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and RPA software for commercial use. Woxsen University will also assist in the R&D of the prototypes being developed by DPGC This project is being entirely funded by DPGC. The strategic partnership with the University is aimed at making India safer and the move resonates with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative also. As prototypes are ready, we would start supplying advanced military equipment to our armed forces soon, subject to necessary approvals,” added Dr Choudhury.

An Indian Soldier has to carry his bulletproof vest (3 kg), weapon (4 kg), ammunition (10 kg), resources like water (3 kg) and other protective wearing. So, soldiers have to carry at least 20 kg to perform their duty. This reduces their performance and can put them in danger. MNT on the other hand can ensure that a soldier’s equipment doesn’t weigh more than 10 kg and is a much better upgrade than the previous weapons.

Military jackets based on MNT are much lighter and have the same or more strength. Uses of Light Bending Nano-Technology is being used to fabricate camouflage technology into clothing that is being worn by officers in war zones. Sensors are being used that can also be used as damage detection systems-physical nano-sensors could detect fractures in military equipment.

How cryptocurrency altered the casino industry

The success of the online casino industry depends on using modern technologies and scientific achievements. Blockchain technology has become a real revolution among virtual casinos. Nowadays, the number of sites that work and use cryptocurrency as a payment method is growing. Crypto transactions have no limits, they are not under control as classic payment methods, and are very convenient to use.

The feature of cryptocurrency work

Blockchain is a ledger of data. Blockchain technology is widely used for iGaming markets, and cryptocurrencies function on their basis. The first digital currency that casinos began to accept was Bitcoin. In 2012, it set the start for development, followed by other digital currencies – XRP Ripple and Ethereum. The development of the blockchain created tokens that are called “non-fungible” in the 2017 year. There are alternative technologies that are similar to the principles of blockchain. For example, the DAG system works on the same principle, only that it doesn’t include miners and blocks. Such alternatives create the basis for new cryptocurrencies, for example, Tether, USD Coin, Litecoin, Ripple, and many others.

Modern crypto-casinos make it possible to deposit a game account and withdraw money that the player won during the games using cryptocurrency as the only or additional payment system. The main essence of such gaming clubs is to offer players to experience all the possibilities of the site, while the anonymity of all actions is guaranteed.

Benefits of using cryptocurrency

Blockchain-based virtual games are attracting more users. This trend is not accidental, because many new opportunities and benefits open up for the players. You can still play your favorite games like poker, jetx bet, roulette, baccarat, and other games which are available for you. All you need to do is choose the method of depositing your cryptocurrency account.

High level of security

Each participant gives access to his personal data, adding financial information when registering at the casino he has chosen. At the same time, there is a risk of transferring such information to third parties and access to financial accounts. When paying with cryptocurrency, this risk is minimized. Blockchain technology is one of the most secure systems. Any transaction is recorded in a special registry, where information about the transaction is determined. Since this list is decentralized, all systems that participate in the blockchain are necessarily recognized and confirmed during the transaction. This minimizes that scammers will steal your data and transfer information to third parties.

Thus, crypto casinos provide more advantages to players compared to regular online gambling clubs. First, their participants are more confident in the security of transactions. Second, they don’t need to indicate personal data, contacts, and other personal information. All they need to do is to go through the registration procedure to create a profile.

Blockchain technology makes gambling secure. The player can deposit bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies within a few seconds receive confirmation of the application and make their first bets. This procedure protects against illegal trading of digital assets and minimizes the likelihood of hacking payment systems.

Cost efficiency

Cryptocurrency transfers are the most profitable for users. If you use a debit or credit card, the costs will be much higher because of the possible extra costs. The reason is that banks and payment services charge a fee for processing the transfer. Such a percentage for a financial transaction may increase when transferring money and converting a currency. Compared to traditional methods of transferring money to a game balance and withdrawing money, paying with cryptocurrency is much more cost-effective. This is due to the fact that it doesn’t require transaction costs and other hidden fees in favor of third parties that are associated with traditional payment methods.

As a result, digital currency is a great alternative to banking methods. Traditional financial authorities don’t control these blockchain-based transactions, since the technology is decentralized. In cooperation with the bank, additional fees are paid not only by the player but also by the casino. If the cryptocurrency is used, such costs are either completely excluded, or can be less than when making payment transactions using other methods.

Not every state has legalized the activity of online casinos. Some are introducing partial bans, preventing games from certain providers. Such players can bet on prohibited games and dispose of winnings when using cryptocurrency. Any holder of a crypto wallet can quickly and without problems access their funds from any country and use it to play in an online game club.

Many players need privacy when they register in online casinos. Most players do not want to advertise their gambling hobby. It is for them that paying with crypto is the best option since it is not required to indicate personal or financial data during registration and further activities. All that is required from a player to bet in a casino is a connection with the crypto wallet.

And while some players simply don’t want to be judged for playing casino games, others worry about their credit history. If you apply for borrowed funds, the bank will have access to information about transfers to the casino account. For example, this may change its mind about granting a loan. When paying with cryptocurrency, no one will see the real way how you spend your own money.

Decentralization process

When using traditional payment methods, all finances pass through an intermediary, in other words, the government or a bank checks this transaction. The role of such an intermediary is excluded when you use cryptocurrency, and all finances are transferred directly.

Decentralization of such a process saves time, since the transfer doesn’t take even three minutes, and saves money because you don’t need to pay the intermediary the fees.

The blockchain-based operation ensures fairness and transparency in the activities of the casino. Many of the gambling platforms that use standard transaction methods have dishonest marketing and a lot of tricks. They include a seemingly generous welcome package, offers, and various bonuses. Sometimes not entirely honest sites provide this information clearly, trying to hide the main information.

Nothing can be hidden with blockchain technology. Crypto casino operators provide all conditions on transparent terms without hidden fees and other unpleasant surprises.

Like classic gaming clubs, crypto casinos offer different promotions and bonus offers. But they usually differ. By paying with cryptocurrency, a player can get more profitable offers.

Transactions with virtual digital currency are carried out without intermediaries and open up many opportunities for casinos, as they also don’t have to pay hidden fees. As a result, many casinos encourage the use of cryptocurrencies with more attractive bonus offers and relatively small wagers. For example, you can receive about 5% bonuses to your account if you choose to fund using cryptocurrency. Thus, it is beneficial for both the users and the casino.

Transfer speed

At first, the player should register an account in order to start playing at the casino. However, after that, he may have difficulties with payments, for example, when converting currencies. These also can be additional commissions, losses due to currency conversion, and a lot of additional time waiting for the processing of the application and the transfer. Some players admit that they choose land-based casinos because they don’t want to spend time on gambling sites.

Bitcoin, Ripple, USD Coin, Litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies reduce the waiting time to several minutes. When you win, the reward can be instantly transferred to a crypto wallet and you can enjoy your win immediately.

Worldwide availability

Cryptocurrency erases borders and restrictions associated with geographic location. It gives freedom of choice regardless of the location point.

All you need for an uninterrupted game and a good time is good access to the Internet.

It is also important to indicate not only the positive features of the blockchain system but also the downsides. Cryptocurrency payments have some drawbacks.

The rate of cryptocurrency depends on supply and demand in the market. It can grow rapidly every day, but at one moment break off and fall. As a result, the player loses his investment. Regardless of the industry in which cryptocurrency is used, it is important to understand its value.

Cryptocurrencies are not available in every casino

Since virtual currency is just beginning to spread, not all casinos are ready to accept it as payment. This significantly limits the user and forces him to look for a casino with the necessary conditions. However, with such advantages for casinos, more and more sites are introducing cryptocurrency. Experts predict that in the future it will be used in every gaming club.

Many casino players still consider cryptocurrency to be a scam of modern times. Complexity and confusion lead to mistrust and limited digital currency.

Influence of blockchain

The blockchain system launched the widespread use of cryptocurrency. Despite a number of disadvantages, it continues to develop and grow rapidly. Simplicity and accessibility open up many opportunities for a number of companies, and online gambling is no exception. Such a monetary system is great for the gambling industry, it improves the integrity of the development and profitability of the casino.

Future of cryptocurrency

The benefits of using blockchain can be controversial but are very convenient for many businesses. According to experts, it will be popular in almost all areas of people in the future and will literally capture the financial world in the next decades. It’s no surprise that cryptocurrencies gain popularity so quickly in the iGaming markets.

As it may seem, the combination of online casinos and cryptocurrencies can be considered almost perfect. Such a connection will only become stronger and new platforms will switch to using digital currency to increase the privacy of users’ data, speed of transactions, and security.

Asha Parekh to become 52nd recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The 68th national film awards will be presented on September 30 in accordance with the more than 60-year-old tradition by President Droupadi Murmu and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, two years after the Covid-19 outbreak put the coveted event on hold.

As the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2020, veteran actress Asha Parekh becomes the 52nd recipient of the honour. The previous Dadasaheb Phalke award was given to the star of southern cinema Rajinikanth.

“Honoured to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke selection jury has decided to recognise and award Asha Parekh ji for her exemplary lifetime contribution to Indian cinema,” Thakur said.

Industry icons Asha Bhosle, Hema Malini, Udit Narayan, Poonam Dhillon, and TS Nagabharana are members of the Dadasaheb Phalke committee.

She worked in more than 95 films and was the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification from 1998-2001,” Thakur added. Parekh was also conferred with Padma Shri in 1992.

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), which was founded in 1954, is now in charge of organising the awards, which fall under the purview of the I&B ministry, for the first time.

The government consolidated four film organisations in March of this year, giving the NFDC full authority over all matters relating to the production of documentaries and short films, the management of film festivals, and the preservation of films.

In keeping with tradition, Hon’ble President Draupadi Murmu will be conferring the National Film awards this year,” NFDC MD Ravinder Bhakar said. “It is an honour for the winners and I congratulate them.”

Eminent leaders and figures from the film industry make up the national awards jury, which is chaired by Vipul Shah and includes Dharam Gulati, Sreelekha Mukherjee, GS Bhaskar, S Thangadurai, Sanjeev Rattan, Karthik Raja, VN Aditya, Viji Thampi, Thangadura, and Nishigandha as members.

The ceremony is taking place four years after President Ram Nath Kovind only delivered 11 of the 137 awards, breaking with convention, which saw more than 50 award recipients skip the 65th National Film Awards ceremony in protest.

The remaining prizes were given out by former information and communication minister Smriti Irani and minister of state Rajyavardhan Rathore.

In 2018, 70 award recipients had expressed their intention to boycott the event in an open letter to protest the cancellation of the award presentation. However, a number of the letter’s signatories, including the singer KJ Yesudas and the filmmaker Prasad Oak, later turned up. The honorees clarified in their letter that their action was not a “boycott,” but rather a demonstration of their displeasure with the President’s choice.

Supreme Court live-streaming hearings for first time today

The Supreme Court went live for the first time on Tuesday when the cases’ hearings, which were planned to be livestreamed during the day, could be viewed online. One of the three cases slated for live streaming was from Maharashtra and pitted Team Uddhav Thackeray against Team Eknath Shinde over a dispute over the Shiv Sena’s symbol, with the Election Commission already involved. This was the second live hearing where the attorney, Kapil Sibal, could be seen arguing.

Live broadcasting was recommended by the Supreme Court around four years ago.

The former chief justice of India, Dipak Misra, had passed the landmark ruling on September 27 on the live telecast of important proceedings, saying “sunlight is the best disinfectant”.

Following discussion on the issue by the whole top court on September 20, it was decided to begin live-streaming constitutional bench hearings this week. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit presided over the whole court meeting, and all the judges agreed that constitutional matters should be the first to be streamed live on a regular basis.

A bold plan to integrate the use of information and technology with India’s judiciary, the e-courts project’s third phase included the proposal to have an exclusive platform for live-streaming Supreme Court sessions.

The high courts in Gujarat, Orissa, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Patna, and Madhya Pradesh are some of the high courts that broadcast hearings live as well.

As raids continue, over 50 PFI members arrested in Karnataka

19 held for vandalizing properties during PFI protest

Law enforcement agencies conducted raids in various areas of Karnataka against members of the Popular Front of India (PFI), during which several of the group’s leaders were taken into custody.

Around 50 people are reportedly in jail as a result of raids that were conducted in Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Mangaluru, Hassan, Bidar, Chikkaballapura, Raichur, and other locations.

“The BJP government is doing this and creating an atmosphere of terror. The NIA has carried out so many raids but has not gotten any proof. We are not anti-nationals. We are protesting legally and won’t tolerate them taking away our leaders in the dead of the night. If they don’t release them, we will have to continue our protests. We are not going to get scared of the police and NIA and will legally continue our protests,” said one member of the PFI from Raichur.

Following days of coordinated arrests by the NIA across multiple states, which resulted in the imprisonment of almost 50 notable leaders, there has been a new round of raids.

Six persons were arrested in the Kolar district.

There are now two individuals in custody in Chamarajanagar.

District 11 PFI and SDPI members were arrested in Dakshina Kannada, while 20 PFI members were detained in Shivamogga.

In the Bagalkot district, seven PFI and SDPI members have been jailed and will remain there till October 3.

Two PFI leaders were arrested in Raichur, and one of them has been remanded in custody.

“The BJP has been a failure in India and Karnataka. Since they have nothing to do in front of the people, they are attempting these things,” PFI member added.

PFI members and supporter are protesting against the crackdown across the state.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) led multi-agency raids on the offices of the organisation and people connected to it on Thursday as part of a nationwide crackdown across 10 states for allegedly supporting terrorist activities, leading to the detention or arrest of numerous Popular Front of India (PFI) activists.

Raids were carried out simultaneously in Mysuru, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Kalaburagi, Davanagere, Raichur, and Koppal during the crackdown in Karnataka.

Azeez Abdul Shukur Honnavar from Sirsi, Ejaj Ali, the district president of the PFI in Kalaburagi, Shahid Khan, the president of the SDPI in Shivamogga, Maulana Mohammad Kaleemulla, the former president of Mysuru, Imamuddin from Davanagere, and Abu Tahir from Harihara town have all been arrested by police, according to officials.

The following day, Bengaluru cops arrested 14 persons. The majority of those arrested were PFI members.

Police commissioner CH Pratap Reddy, said the suspects were picked up for questioning in connection with a suo motu case registered at the city’s KG Halli police station.

These 14 individuals had remanded in police custody by a Bengaluru court until October 3.

Prominent religious figures and human rights activists in the nation asked that all of the leaders of the Popular Front of India and the Social Democratic Party of India who have been illegally arrested by the NIA be unconditionally and promptly released.

“The raids and arrests are ill motivated and an attempt to silence the dissenting voices against fascism,” read a joint statement by people include Dr. Suresh Khairnar, convenor of All India Secular Forum, Syed Sarwar Chisthy, Gaddi Nashin Khadim of Dargah Ajmer Sharrif , and Rajratna Ambedkar, president of the Buddhist Society of India.

Indian rupee gains 37 paise against the US dollar, reaching 81.30

The rupee rose 37 paise to 81.30 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday, as the US currency fell from its highs.

The domestic unit opened at 81.45 against the dollar on the interbank foreign exchange, then fell to 81.30, a 37-paise gain from its previous close.

The rupee fell 58 paise against the dollar on Monday, reaching an all-time low of 81.67.

According to Sriram Iyer, Senior Research Analyst at Reliance Securities, the rupee strengthened against the dollar as the greenback took a breather.

Experts predict that the focus will now shift to the RBI’s meeting this week, with its decision due on Friday.

“Most Asian and emerging market peers have started mixed, but a positive start in the equity futures could aid sentiments. The dollar index was marginally weaker, while the Euro, Sterling and the Yen strengthened against the greenback in this Tuesday morning trade,” Iyer said.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the strength of the US currency against a basket of six currencies, dropped 0.36 percent to 113.69.

Brent crude futures rose 0.57 percent to USD 84.54 per barrel, the global oil benchmark.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 176.91 points, or 0.31 percent, higher at 57,322.13, while the broader NSE Nifty was up 55.95 points, or 0.33 percent, at 17,072.25.
