Keona Huntley, a Florida resident, claims that her WiFi router caused a fire that destroyed her home. She shared her experience on TikTok, where she uses the handle @yeahthatskeeee. According to her, the blaze started in her bedroom, where the Quantum Fibre router was kept.

Persistent Issues Before the Fire

Ms. Huntley revealed she had recurring problems with the router. Despite multiple visits from technicians and eventually replacing the device, the issues persisted. She believes these unresolved problems led to the fire, which quickly spread throughout her home.

Extensive Damage

The fire caused severe destruction. Ms. Huntley posted a video showing the aftermath. The kitchen walls were blackened, debris was scattered, and her bedroom was completely ruined. Only the charred coils of her mattress remained. “We literally lost everything today,” she said, adding that parts of her house were unrecognizable.

No Renters Insurance

Adding to her challenges, Ms. Huntley admitted she didn’t have renters insurance. This left her with no financial means to replace her family’s belongings. “I have to live with that guilt now that my kids don’t have a home. I can’t even replace their stuff,” she said.

Seeking Help Through GoFundMe

In the wake of the disaster, Ms. Huntley turned to GoFundMe for support. She described the emotional impact of losing her home and belongings. “Our family’s world was turned upside down,” she wrote. The funds will help her family find temporary housing and replace essential items.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. While Ms. Huntley blames the router, officials are working to determine whether a defect or external factors were responsible for the blaze.
