love experimenting with new foods – in fact my food choices once left me thoroughly pickled on Poetta beach in Cagliari, Sardinia, but that’s another story. And, if you think the list of the unusual and creepy foods ends with the shark curry, you are mistaken. Here we hold your hands and take you to a less-explored wild world of food. When it comes to food, every culture has its own preferences. What makes a food weird, however, goes beyond what would be considered culture shock. These dishes push the boundaries of normalcy, yet are considered to be quite tasty and healthy.

They say the headless squid served atop a bowl of rice or noodles, accompanied by salmon eggs and other toppings, is actually dead and only appears to be dancing because of muscle contraction though the sodium in the soy sauce poured over it.
