On the very first day of the meeting of the Opposition parties, cracks have begun to show. CPI leader D Raja and CPIM general secretary Sitaram Yechuri went straight to Congress Parliamentary party chairman Sonia Gandhi. They clearly told that left parties can not join a front while the TMC is present. West Bengal state Congress leaders passed on the message to Sonia Gandhi through Left leaders in attendance at the meeting. They want to continue the electoral alliance with the Left. Mamata watched the scene and went later to Mrs Gandhi and offered two Lok Sabha seats for the Congress in Bengal. Now it is up to Congress leadership to take a call on the question of an alliance.
