The wait for the last two weeks is finally over. At the end of June, the rains made a heavy appearance.
Heavy rains lashed many parts of the state including Mumbai. Meanwhile, according to the information provided by the Indian Meteorological Department, monsoon has entered Mumbai on Sunday (June 25). Also, the intensity of rain will increase in many parts of Maharashtra, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for some districts including including Pune, Nagpur. Cyclone Biparjoy had delayed the arrival of monsoon. After the favorable conditions, due to the Monsoon various parts of the state witnessed heavy rains on Saturday. After two weeks of dry weather in June, Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Thane, Navi Mumbai received light rain on Saturday. The claims made by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation failed as the rain continued throughout the day. Many parts of Mumbai were flooded. Like every year, traffic had to be diverted due to water filling in Andheri subway. Water was also accumulated in other parts. Due to this, the traffic slowed down and the Mumbaiites were seen being suffered a lot. Mumbai recorded 115.8 mm of rain.
The Andheri subway has been shut for vehicular movement due to water logging after incessant rainfall in Mumbai on Saturday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the traffic police said. The traffic was diverted towards the Swami Vivekananda road.
Saturday’s rains also washed away all the tall claims of the civic body about nullah-cleaning work and installation of dewatering pumps. The BMC had in March stated that it was spending R257 crore to clean the city’s major and minor nullahs, including the Mithi river. In order to prevent water-logging in the low-lying areas, it had also installed 477 dewatering pumps. But, following a heavy rain in several pockets in the city witnessed flooding, including Gandhi Market, Dadar TT, Sion, LBS Road, BKC connector road, Kala Chowki, Saki Naka, and a road adjacent to Shivaji Park.

Orange alert to many districts from Meteorological department
Monsoon is progressing slowly and the weather department has predicted that the intensity of rain will increase in different parts of the state in the next few days. The Meteorological Department has given the information about the rain condition in which district till June 28.

Raigad Ratnagiri will receive heavy rainfall
As predicted by the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely to occur in Raigad, Ratnagiri district today (June 25). The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the districts of Raigad and Ratnagiri. Pune, Satara, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur along with Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, Yavatmal districts of Vidarbha have been given yellow alert.

Orange alert has been given to Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur districts. Raigad and Ratnagiri districts of Konkan have also been alerted for heavy rains. Heavy rainfall is expected in some districts of the state, while moderate rainfall is expected in some areas.

June 27: Warning to Pune, Nagpur
On Tuesday (June 27), some districts of VLidarbha including Pune, Raigad have been warned of heavy rain. Meteorological department has given orange alert to Raigad, Pune, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur districts. Yellow alert has been issued for Palghar, Nashik, Nandurbar, Satara, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg along with Buldhana, Akola, Yavatmal, Wardha, Gondia, Gadchiroli districts of Vidarbha.
