In the heart of Delhi’s Connaught Place, a fire broke out on the eleventh floor of the Gopal Das building, a corporate structure housing numerous prominent offices. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, thanks to the timely evacuation efforts by the fire department. The fire incident was reported at 1 p.m., and with the fire station in close proximity to the building, fifteen fire tenders promptly arrived and successfully extinguished the fire.
Firefighters gained control of the blaze within half an hour. Subsequently, they broke some window glass to allow smoke to dissipate from the building and conducted a thorough search for any individuals trapped inside; fortunately, none were found. Fire officials confirmed there were no casualties except for a fireman who sustained a minor injury.
“We have thoroughly searched the building, and no one is trapped inside,” stated the fire officials. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit resulting from old wiring in the building. However, a detailed report from the fire department will provide clarity on the exact reason for the fire.
