Chandigarh, on December 20, 2023, anticipates a significant protest at Sector 17, orchestrated by the Federation of UT Employees and Workers. A preliminary rally took place at MC Road Booth, Sector 38, condemning the administration’s persistently negative stance toward the demands of UT and MC employees. Federation Secretary-General Gopal Datt Joshi, alongside MC Road’s Secretary Prem Pal, Chairman M Rajindram, and Secretary Surinder, criticized officials for their continuous resistance to employee demands. The outlined demands include the abolition of the New Pension System, termination of PF AD RDA, reinstatement of the old pension, regularization of temporary employees across all departments, prompt filling of vacant positions, and resolution of salary structure discrepancies. The Federation has issued a collective notice to all officers on December 14, signaling discontent with the administration’s handling of employee demands and threatening a mass protest on December 20.
