Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, stated that terrorism persists in the Union Territory, emphasizing that it has not ended. This comes in the wake of a terrorist attack in the Thanamandi area of the Rajouri sector, where four army soldiers were killed in an ambush on two military vehicles.

Speaking in Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah commented on the recent terror attack, stating, “Even today there is terrorism in J&K; there has just been an incident. Terrorism has not ended.” He cautioned against downplaying the security situation, particularly in light of efforts to boost tourism in Kashmir, emphasizing that even a single incident could deter tourists from visiting.

The National Conference President’s remarks highlight the ongoing security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir and the need for sustained efforts to address the issue of terrorism in the region.
