The Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday sent liquor businessman Amandeep Dhal to Judicial Custody till 21 March in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

Dhal was produced by ED in the court after the end of his remand period. Dhal’s advocate, Tanveer Ahmad Mir, appeared for before court to sought not to keep him in the same jail where other accused of the same case are lodged as he claimed that there is threat perception.

My client shouldn’t be put to any harm, while in your honour’s custody, Mir said. Towhich, the Special Judge, MK Nagpal directed the authorities of the Jail that his client be kept in some other jail as per provisions of the jail manual and if this is not possible then all necessary arrangements be made to keep him secure.

He was recently arrested by ED in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation into the Delhi excise policy. As per the statement given by ED, Dhal has conspired with several other persons who are actively involved in the formation of policy.
