Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday that the BJP and BJP-JJP governments, over the last 10 years, have given nothing to Haryana except unemployment, misery, and destruction. That is why the entire Haryana, including Mewat, wants to oust this government from power.

Addressing the Congress workers’ meeting organized in Nuh by the party’s deputy leader in the Assembly Aftab Ahmed, MLAs Mohammad Ilyas, and Maman Khan today, Hooda said Haryana has rejected the politics of division practiced by the BJP. The workers’ meeting turned into a large rally due to the enthusiasm and attendance of the workers.

Hooda was accompanied by senior party leaders, including Congress state president Chaudhary Udaibhan, Congress OBC (wing) national president Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, MLA Rao Dan Singh, former MLA Karan Singh Dalal, Haryana Congress working president Jitendra Bhardwaj, Sahida Khan, Ibrahim Engineer, Mohammad Israel.

The Congress has announced to start the ‘Ghar Ghar Congress’ campaign on the occasion of New Year, after the great public support received for Bharat Jodo Yatra, Vipaksh Aapke Samakash, Hath Se Hath Jodo campaign, Jan Milan, and Jan Aakrosh rallies. The Mewat unit welcomed the new program, and party workers also put forward their suggestions in the meeting. Everyone has resolved to uproot the BJP-JJP government from Haryana. On this occasion, JJP District President Javed Khan from Nuh joined the Congress, and all senior leaders welcomed him into the party.

In his address, Hooda said BJP-JJP does politics of division only in the name of religion, while brotherhood and development form the basis of Congress’s politics. “The present government is trying to destroy the medical college built in Mewat during the Congress government. The hospital neither has doctors, nor medicines or other medical items. Centuries of brotherhood, which was not broken even during the partition of 1947, were tested under the present government,” he said.

“Law and order plunged to unimaginable lows during the present government, which led to a complete dry-out of investments into the state. That is why the state is facing the highest unemployment rate in the country today,” he pointed out.
The former Chief Minister said the Congress is on the mission of bringing Haryana back on the path of development. “The enthusiasm of the workers and the outpouring of affection in the entire state, including Mewat, is showing that the state is soon going to vote out a government steeped in corruption and failures. A Congress government, which would work for the welfare of the people through its progressive policies, is going to be formed here,” he said.

“When the Congress government is formed in the state, every elderly person will be guaranteed a pension of 6000 per month, a gas cylinder for 500, 300 units of free electricity, OPS to government employees, appointment to senior posts like DSP to sportspersons, and MSP to farmers. For OBCs, the creamy layer limit will be increased from Rs 6 to Rs 10 lakh,” he promised and also said that the rule of law will be re-established in the state, and strict action will be taken against criminals.

Today, the Drivers union also submitted its memorandum to Hooda and expressed anger over the new law. Hooda said that the government has imposed the new law without consulting the drivers. This will be rectified when the Congress government is formed.
On this occasion, Haryana Congress president Chaudhary Udaibhan said the future belongs to the Congress, and it is certain that the BJP-JJP government will be voted out of the state. He said every day the government is taking decisions that ensure that the ruling alliance loses whatever support it has left among the people.

“First, agricultural laws were forcefully imposed on the farmers, due to which 750 farmers were martyred. Similarly, a law was made to increase the working hours of factory workers from 8 to 12. Now a new law has been imposed on the drivers, without any consultation. That is why every section has been forced to take to the streets against the decisions of this government. The people suffering the atrocities of the present government are remembering the development works done during the Congress government,” he said.

“If we talk about Mewat, works like the construction of IMT to Hasan Khan Mewati Medical College were done only during the Congress government. The Congress government also waived off electricity bills worth Rs 1600 crore and cooperative loans worth Rs 2200 crore in entire Haryana, while the BJP-JJP government has hurt the people with their economic decisions and then lathis when they protested. Now the time of the government oppressing the people is over,” he said.
