Dawn News reported, police, that a suicide bomber targeted a vehicle transporting five Japanese nationals on Friday in Karachi’s Landhi area.

The police reported that the Japanese citizens sustained injuries in the incident, while the assailants responsible for the attack were fatally shot. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar informed Dawn that the event occurred near Murtaza Chorangi in Landhi, clarifying that the five foreign nationals were traveling in a Hiace van.

All five Japanese individuals remained unharmed. However, their accompanying private security guard sustained injuries,” he stated. “No individual or group has claimed responsibility thus far,” the DIG added, noting that the vehicle transporting the Japanese nationals was equipped with bulletproof protection. In a related development, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah directed the inspector general to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. He instructed to compile a comprehensive report detailing the identities and origins of the terrorists, any potential accomplices, and specifics regarding the explosives utilized in the attack.
