Essential service voters cast over 1200 votes in Rajasthan

Various rules and services have been implemented for voting in Rajasthan Assembly elections. A similar voting service is being run from 19 to 21 November for voters associated with essential services. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that voting started in the Postal Voting Center on Sunday for voters associated with essential services. On the first day, 1218 votes were cast by essential services voters.
Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that a total of 6691 postal ballots have been issued for essential services in the state. According to the orders issued by the Election Commission, doctors in the medical sector, para-medical staff, ambulance staff, electricians in the energy department, linemen, pump operators in PHED, turners, employees working in milk committees of Rajasthan, driver-conductors in roadways and election officials. Media employees authorised by the Commission will be given the facility of voting through postal ballot from this year. Gupta said that for the first time, journalists have also been included in the category of essential services.
Postal Voting Centers have been set up for essential services voters to vote through postal ballots. Voting can be done at these centres till November 21. The Election Commission provides the facility of voting through postal ballots to the officers and employees appointed for election work. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that this facility is being provided to the personnel engaged in assembly election duty, police officers etc. According to the data released at the facilitation centres set up in all the districts for the postal ballot, so far 183467 votes have been cast. On Sunday, 45872 polling personnel exercised their franchise.
Gupta said that this facility has been ensured in all the assembly constituencies of the state. Facilitation centres have been set up for officers and employees appointed for election work to vote through postal ballot. Voting can be done at these centres on different days till November 24. The Chief Electoral Officer has given instructions for every returning officer in addition to the above-mentioned facilities. The order is that a convenience centre will be set up in the officers’ office from 22 to 24 November. Apart from this, in the assembly elections, the Election Commission of India is getting the elderly and disabled voters to vote through home voting. In the first phase of home voting, 60,424 voters from the state have voted from home. During home voting so far, a total of 1220 voters remained absent at home during the visit of special polling teams. 884 voters have died. In the first phase, 96.64 per cent of elderly and disabled voters did home voting. Of these, 96.49 per cent of elderly people and 97.56 per cent of disabled people voted.
