Prime Video has announced the premiere date and unveiled the first teaser trailer for the eagerly awaited third season of its fantasy series The Wheel of Time. Fans can return to this epic tale of magic and conflict on March 13, 2024.
The announcement came during the show’s panel at CCXP (Comic Con Experience) in São Paulo, Brazil. According to Deadline, the newly released teaser gave audiences a glimpse of mounting tensions and the escalating battle between Light and Dark. The trailer highlights a world in flux as the Shadow’s influence grows stronger, raising the stakes in the fight between good and evil.
Season 3 follows Moiraine Sedai (Rosamund Pike) and Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) as they strive to prevent Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski) from falling into the clutches of the spreading darkness. As the Dragon Reborn, Rand’s destiny is to either save the world or destroy it, setting the stage for an epic confrontation.

Set in a sprawling universe where only women can wield magic, The Wheel of Time centers on Rand, a humble farm boy who learns he is the Dragon Reborn, a pivotal figure in the world’s fate. Following the events of Season 2—where Rand defeats Ishamael, reunites with his allies in Fal Dara, and embraces his destiny—the third season introduces fresh threats.
These include a divided White Tower, the escape of the Black Ajah, and the return of ancient enemies to the Two Rivers. Meanwhile, the Forsaken, led by the formidable Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe), relentlessly pursue Rand. As his past unravels and his powers become increasingly unstable, Moiraine and Egwene are united by a shared mission: to prevent Rand from succumbing to the Shadow, no matter the personal cost.

Season 3 also delves deeper into Rand’s relationship with Lanfear, a dynamic that could determine whether he stands against the Shadow or embraces it. As Rand’s character grows more complex, the evolving bond between Moiraine and Egwene—who began as teacher and student—emerges as a vital force in the fight for the Light.
The returning cast includes Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, Joshua Stradowski as Rand, and Madeleine Madden as Egwene, alongside Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, and Donal Finn as Mat Cauthon. New additions include Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, and Ayoola Smart as Min Farshaw.
Based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling fantasy novels, The Wheel of Time is adapted for television by showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins. The series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, with Judkins collaborating with an esteemed team of producers, including Rosamund Pike, as well as key contributors from Jumanji: The Next Level, Winter Dragon, and Game of Thrones.
For those who need to catch up, the first two seasons of The Wheel of Time are available for streaming on Prime Video. With the Last Battle drawing nearer, Season 3 promises to dive deeper into the complex dynamics between Light, Dark, and those entangled in the struggle.
