Deepika Padukone’s Rs 1.92 Lakh Hukum Ki Rani Saree Showcases Purana Hindustan

Deepika Padukone wowed everyone with her stunning look at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s sangeet ceremony. Known for her impeccable style, Deepika chose a more traditional route this time, opting for a beautiful Torani saree instead of the usual sequined sarees that dominated the event. Her choice made a powerful fashion statement and highlighted the beauty of Indian craftsmanship.

The saree, called ‘Hukum Ki Rani,’ costs Rs 1.92 lakh and took over 3,400 hours to make. It’s crafted from handspun organza in a custom bejeweled purple shade and features intricate designs of hearts, birds, bricks, and betel leaves, symbols that are deeply rooted in Indian culture.

The palla, or the end piece of the saree, is adorned with pure gold embroidery and hand-embroidered net fabric, adding an extra touch of elegance. The blouse, inspired by traditional Rajputana chaniya cholis, blends heritage with a modern twist. It has bird motifs in gold embroidery and jasmine flower handwoven tassels, adding a contemporary flair to the traditional design.

This saree is part of Torani’s new couture collection ‘Leela,’ which is inspired by 16th-century architecture like Hyderabad’s Chowmahalla Palace and the Chaukhandi tombs of Karachi. The collection tells stories of an undivided ‘Purana Hindustan’ (Old India), celebrating India’s rich cultural and historical heritage. The designs on the saree bring to mind an era when Indian craftsmanship was at its peak, with symbols of love, freedom, foundation, and tradition woven into the fabric.

Deepika’s choice of this saree is more than just a fashion statement; it’s a celebration of India’s beautiful craftsmanship and history. Her look at the sangeet was a perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern style, setting major fashion goals for everyone who appreciates the richness of Indian heritage.

In a time when fast fashion often takes center stage, Deepika Padukone‘s ‘Hukum Ki Rani’ saree is a reminder of the beauty and value of handcrafted garments. It highlights the importance of preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage through fashion. As Deepika continues to impress us with her incredible style, this saree will undoubtedly be remembered as one of her most iconic looks, showcasing the timeless charm of ‘Purana Hindustan.’
