Deakin University has proudly announced the recipients of its prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious 100% Scholarship for 2024. Valued at over Rs 6 million, this scholarship was awarded to ten outstanding students following an extensive nationwide search in India.

The winners, including Vishrut Goswami, Aditi Mishra, Tamanna Kalra, Tia Kapoor, Tanvir Kaur Sohi, Tisha Vyas, Hasnain Reza Bilal, Mathanki, and Aarav Verma, were unveiled during an exclusive ‘Leaders of Tomorrow‘ episode, produced in collaboration with Deakin University and broadcast on Times Now and Mirror Now.

Now in its 11th year, this scholarship program forms part of Deakin’s ‘Transforming Lives’ initiative, demonstrating the university’s commitment to strengthening ties with India and providing world-class education opportunities to Indian students. With this year’s recipients, a total of 66 Indian students have now benefited from this program.

The winners were congratulated by Professor Iain Martin, President and Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, who highlighted their outstanding efforts. “Congratulations to the 2024 recipients for their remarkable achievements,” he said. Over the past three decades, Deakin University’s commitment to India and its students has grown stronger, culminating in the recent opening of our GIFT City campus earlier this year. Our approach has always been ‘in India, with India, for India,’ and as our university prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024, we recognize how essential this partnership has been to our growth and success.

Ravneet Pawha, Vice President (Global Alliances) and CEO (South Asia) at Deakin University, expressed her excitement, stating, “I congratulate the winners and commend the dedication, talent, and passion that have earned them this prestigious award. This scholarship underscores the potential of these exceptional students and provides them with a gateway to transformative opportunities that can shape their future and the world around them.

Deakin is excited to support this journey and looks forward to the fresh perspectives they will bring, the innovative solutions to global challenges they will create, and the extension of Australia-India amity that they will surely contribute.”

The scholarship includes full tuition fee support and participation in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program, featuring workshops, development meetings, and academic mentorship to help scholars excel in their professions and make a lasting impact on their communities.

Vishrut Goswami, one of the recipients, expressed his gratitude, stating, “The scholarship is a life changer and means a lot to me. Coming from a humble background, this scholarship will support my education and enable me to explore and experiment with growth opportunities without feeling the financial burden.”

The parents of Aarav Verma, another scholarship recipient, also shared their pride and gratitude, stating, “It is indeed a proud moment for us as parents when we stand on this prestigious university platform with our son; there is nothing more we ask for.”
