With an aim to spread awareness about the importance of voting, the Election Commission of India has chosen Muskan, a specially-abled girl from Himachal Pradesh as the ‘youth icon’ for the upcoming state Assembly polls. This is second time the election commission has selected her for this special role to play in the democratic process of elections.

State Coordinator and President of Umang Foundation Professor Ajay Srivastava told The Daily Guardian, “For hassle-free elections in Himachal Pradesh, she would motivate people to take part in the electoral process.”

Muskan will encourage voters to cast maximum number of votes in the elections that are to be held in Himachal Pradesh. In the year 2017 and 2019 also, the Election Commission gave her this honor.
