The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday announced the schedule for bypolls in one Lok Sabha and 56 Assembly seats in various states. The bypolls for 54 Assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh will be held on 3 November. In addition, two Assembly constituencies in Manipur will also go to polls along with the parliamentary constituency of Valmiki Nagar in Bihar on 3 November.
The poll results for the by-elections will be announced on 10 November. The EC said that it has decided not to hold by-elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
