External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar provided insights into his two-day official trip to Malaysia on Thursday, underscoring the discussions he engaged in with various ministers during his visit.

EAM Jaishankar undertook a two-day official visit to Malaysia from March 27-28, followed by visits to Singapore and the Philippines.

Jaishankar utilized his social media platform X to share a video showcasing all his meetings and events during his visit to Malaysia.

While in Malaysia, he met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, expressing admiration for his vision aimed at enhancing the relationship between India and Malaysia.

During the encounter, Jaishankar also conveyed warm regards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The External Affairs Minister also underscored that this vision will act as a catalyst for shaping a more ambitious agenda to propel the relationship between the two nations forward. Jaishankar highlighted that he greatly appreciated Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s guidance and insights on regional developments during their interaction.

Subsequently, he also held discussions with Foreign Minister Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, covering a wide range of topics related to bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

Jaishankar also engaged in talks with the Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo. During their meeting, the EAM discussed bilateral cooperation in the digital sector with the Malaysian minister.

During the visit, the EAM convened a round-table meeting with CEOs and industry leaders.

He also engaged with members of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia and commended their contributions to fostering India-Malaysia relations.

Later, he also met with Tan Sri Vigneswaran, President of the Malaysian Indian Congress.

Malaysia is a crucial partner for India in ASEAN and our Act East Policy. The MEA stated that EAM’s visit to Malaysia offered an opportunity to reaffirm its dedication to advancing the Enhanced Strategic Partnership.
