A doctor allegedly in inebriated state thrashed a female patient in the medical college hospital of Chhattisgarh’s Korba district. A show cause notice has been issued against the doctor by hospital management following the incident when a video of the same went viral on social media. The patient’s son Shyam Kumar rushed her mother to the hospital when the patient’s health started deteriorating gradually. During the treatment, the doctor started beating the woman and when she protested against the act, she was told to be quiet.
Dean of Medical College Hospital Dr Avinash Meshram said that the matter came to his notice and a show-cause notice was issued against the doctor. Further investigation into the matter was going on and action would be taken accordingly, he added.
